About the Program

The U.S. Department of the Treasury Political Volunteer Internship Program runs throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters for college students and recent graduates. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules but generally run Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Privacy Act Statement

Authority: The information requested is collected under the authority of 5 U.S.C. §§ 1302, 3301, 3302, 3304, 3305, 3307, and 3309, and Executive Orders 9397, as amended by Executive Order 13478, Executive Order 9830, Executive Order 12107, and Executive Order 14170.

Purpose: The Department of the Treasury collects this information to administer the Political Volunteer Internship Program, evaluate applicant qualifications, determine eligibility for internship opportunities, communicate with applicants regarding the selection process, and manage internship program operations.

Routine Uses: The information you provide may be disclosed outside the Department of the Treasury as permitted by the Privacy Act of 1974 and the routine uses published in the applicable System of Records Notices (SORNs), including OPM/GOVT-5, Recruiting, Examining, and Placement Records, and Treasury .015, General Information Technology Access Account Records. Such disclosures may be made to other Federal agencies or other entities as authorized by law and described in the applicable SORNs.

Disclosure: Providing the requested information is voluntary. However, failure to provide all or part of the requested information, including required supporting documentation, may prevent the Department from considering your application or determining your eligibility for participation in the Political Volunteer Internship Program.
